Blogger’s apologies

I know the posting have been patchy recently — it’s been one of those summers! Normal service should resume in a week or so. In the meantime, feel free to send me items you think will be of interest to the readers.

In addition, we would like to mention that while stable, the NAMA finances could always do with a boost. We decided against raising the dues in these hard times, but if anyone is feeling generous and has a little to spare, please contact NAMA through the website www.northamericanmanx.org and send a check to John Prendergast, our Treasurer. If anyone is considering making charitable bequests when they pass, please consider NAMA and our work to advance the history and culture of the Isle of Man within the USA.

It was interesting that yesterday, on the way back to Chicago from the Platteville meeting, the Prendergasts and I stopped at a farm stall. While there, a gentleman picking up on my accent asked me where I was from and when told the IOM, said, “My mother told me that we come from there.” Cue Brad. Following an introduction and an exchange of business cards and NAMA and the Chicago Manx may acquire another member. That’s how it’s done folks!
