POP-UP EVENT!!!!!
Hop-tu-Naa is a Celtic festival celebrated in the Isle of Man on 31 October. It is the celebration of the traditional Gaelic festival of Samhain, the start of winter. It is thought to be the oldest unbroken tradition in the Isle of Man. The holiday’s festivities include carving turnips lanterns, which are similar to the Halloween activity of making jack-o-lanterns.
Our lovely Greater Washington DC Area Manx Society member Cynthia, is offering a pop-up event at her home: a Moot/Turnip (or pumpkin) Carving Party for Hop-tu-Naa at her house in NW, Washington, DC from 2:00-4:00 on Sunday, October 11.
