The 2026 N.A.M.A. Convention is scheduled for July 10-12, 2026, in Cleveland, Ohio. Brad Prendergast, our 1st Vice-president is organizing the event and has a few notes along with the convention registration and hotel booking details below.
The Manx history in Cleveland now dates back more than two centuries! The first documented appearance of the Manx was the Corlett family leasing 50 acres to farm in Newburgh in 1822. In 1826, three more families settled here. Within a year, another 70 Manx families settled in the Warrensville area. Eventually, there were some 3,000 Manx and their descendants in the area. Our convention will celebrate our 200+ yearlong connection with Cleveland.
Those pioneer Manx brought their trades and skills to build Cleveland. Among the more important families was that of John Gill. He formed John Gill & Sons, a large construction company that built significane buildings both in Cleveland and elsewhere. After his death, his son, John T. Gill and his grandson, Kermode F. Gill, built several landmark structures in Cleveland, including the Cleveland Union Terminal and Terminal Tower (1927). One hundred years later, we will have the opportunity to visit that building during the Convention. Our convention will take us to other important Manx-built buildings, celebrating the long history of the Manx and the landmarks they left for us. We will visit both the Clague Museum and Harcourt Manor, the home that Kermode F. Gill built for himself. The current owners have graciously allowed us to visit their restored home.
We have a memorial service at the Old Stone Church on the Square on Sunday, followed by refreshments at the Church. Then, as an optional excursion, buses will take convention delegates to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, where you can visit the exhibit dedicated to the Bee Gees, who were born and raised on the Isle of Man.
Our convention hotel is the Hotel Cleveland, where we have reserved a block of rooms at a favorable rate. For those desiring to stay in Cleveland either before or after the Convention, the hotel will honor the rate both before and after.

Rooms are now available for reservations for the 2016 North American Manx Association Convention in Cleveland next year. It will be held in the Hotel Cleveland, 24 Public Square, Cleveland, OH 44113

Rate is $229/night, and remains in effect to 6/12. After 6/12, reservations are on an availability basis, and the same convention rate at the hotel is also available for a period of time before and after the convention.
The rough itinerary is:
July 10 (Board meeting in AM). Delegates arrive and check in early to mid-afternoon. (PM reception).
July 11 – Saturday – All day events with banquet in the evening
July 12 – Sunday – Morning and early afternoon events.
We have a room block for 20 rooms for both nights. Block will be released after 6/12/26. Rate is $229/night, and rate remains in effect to 6/12. After 6/12, reservations are on an availability basis, at the “prevailing rate”– whatever that is!
